Hi, I‘m Lisa. And this is Remington.
OUR STORY
Why I Started DIY Dressage
In Nov 2025, I imported a 4-year-old KWPN gelding named Remington from Lombardo Sporthorses in the Netherlands — and decided to document every step of our journey together. I'm not a professional trainer. I'm a dedicated amateur that's been riding since I was a kid—hunters, jumpers, and then dressage for the last 25 years - training with elite coaches and Olympians.
In this channel, I'm sharing our journey to show that with the right knowledge, hard work, and a willingness to ask for help, you can develop a young horse through the levels on your own terms. DIY Dressage is my honest, unfiltered diary of that process — the breakthroughs, the setbacks, and everything in between.
LET’S SHARE THE JOURNEY
Built for Riders Like Us
I've spent thousands on full training programs, fancy show barns, and an endless cycle of entry fees. And somewhere along the way, I realized I was stuck on an expensive conveyor belt — tethered to one coach, caught up in barn politics, and spending less actual time with my horse than I wanted. Sound familiar?
I started DIY Dressage to take my journey back into my own hands, and I want to build a community of amateur riders doing the same. Think of it as your virtual show barn — a place to learn from each other, share what's working, celebrate the wins, and be honest about the hard days. No politics, no pressure. Just riders helping riders get better.
Let’s Do This!
This is just the beginning for Remington and I, and I'd love to connect with you, building a community of like-minded riders on a mission to be the best we can be. Subscribe to DIY Dressage and let's tackle this journey together — one ride at a time.
